Description: The event is the 2012 Telluride Compassion Festival and Conference, taking place July 18-22 in Telluride, CO. The event is in its third year and is sponsored by the Telluride Institute and Stanford Univeristy CCARE. It is designed to investigate the science, the cultural practices, and the educational potential of compassion.
This year the Ideas Festival (hosted by Telluride Institute) will explore how we can increase compassionate interaction in our egional communiteis. This protion of the event takes place at eh Historic Sheridan Opera House on July 18-19.
Stanford University's CCARE will host "The Science of Compassion: Origins, Measures & Interventions" at the michael palm Theatre from July 19-22. This conference will focus on the basic science of compassion, approaches to enhancing compassion, and the benefits compassion can afford to health, well-being and psychosocial function. Top researchers and clinicians will meet to exchange ideas and information, to test conceptual consensus and to forge collaborative alliances. This will be the highest level conference ever held on the science of compassion.
