Description: The SW Colorado Small Business Development Center is offering a Leading Edge Business skills and planning course for farms, ranches, and related bsinesses such as agri-tourism, forestry, hunting, custom harvesting, food processing."Tilling the Soil of Opportunity" is a farmers an rancher friendly course that teaches the art of business planning. Participants will be provided with information, professional advice and tools to develop business skills and create plans to start, manage an grow their businesses. They wil focus on creating production, marketing and financial plans that consider their desired quality of life, land health and how to plan for term sustainability. Completed business plans will be eligible for cash awards. Ideal for beginning and experienced agreicultural producers and related businesses. This is a nine session course to be held in Mancos on Saturday afternoons. Register by Jan. 10 to secure a seat. Tuition is $280 and includes 36 hours of instruction. Scholarships are available.
