Free women’s health series to be offered

A free series, “Women’s Health,” will begin with a class about estrogen from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Zuke’s, 2257 Main Ave.

The class will cover what estrogen is, what it does and how it acts. The second half of the class will focus on xenoestrogens from industrial and agricultural sources, phytoestrogens from plant sources, and herbs and foods to support proper estrogen metabolism.

This class is relevent for women of any age and is recommended as a precursor for the remaining classes in the series. The series will be offered by herbalist Marija Helt.

Roller Girls to hold spaghetti dinner

The Durango Roller Girls will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 22 at Mutu’s Italian Kitchen, 701 East Second Ave.

Seatings for the all-you-can-eat dinner will take place every 45 minutes. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Adaptive Sports Association.

Tickets are available at Mutu’s, Southwest Sound or from a Roller Girl. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children and children younger than 5 will eat for free. Beer and wine will be available with cash only.
