With just two seniors on its roster last year, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team struggled to a 5-21 overall record.
The plus side: FLC will return 10 players to next year’s roster.
FLC coach Shelly Aaland already is thinking turnaround. She signed Lindley Gallegos, a defensive specialist from Manzano High School in Albuquerque, to a national letter of intent during the early signing period.
“Lindley is a very talented and knowledgeable defensive player,” Aaland said in a news release. “She adds instant depth to that position, and I expect her to come in and make an immediate impact ou our turnaround in the conference.”
FLC finished its season 2-16 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Manzano was a three-year starter at libero and was all-district libero two consecutive years.
