Authorities are investigating the death of a 27-year-old Denver man who died last weekend at his parents house near Arboles.
Kyle Swain was found dead Saturday on a couch in the living room of his parents home, said Carl Macht, coroner for Archuleta County.
Swain’s mother apparently noticed her son having difficulty breathing, but she went back to bed, believing her son was a healthy individual and there was no reason to be overly concerned, Macht said.
When the parents woke up, Swain had died, he said.
The parents said Swain may have drank one or two beers the night before, but it was unknown if he left the house at night and continued drinking, Macht said.
An autopsy did not reveal any obvious cause of death, he said. Swain appeared to have the body of a healthy 27-year-old.
There were no obvious signs of foul play, he said.
The coroner is awaiting the results of a toxicology report, which can take three to four weeks.
Swain and his girlfriend recently purchased a house on the Front Range and was at his parents home to pick up some belongings, Macht said.
Anyone with information about Swain’s death is asked to call Detective Lando Garcia with the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office at (970) 264-2131.
