Kimber Michelle Brown died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at her grandmother’s home in Durango. She was 5. The cause of death is undetermined at this time.
Kimber was born May 22, 2006, in Durango to Mike Brown and Raelyn Anderson-Brown and attended kindergarten at Florida Mesa Elementary.
Kimber also is an alumni of the Mercy Regional Medical Center’s Child Care program, attended dance classes at Dance in the Rockies, skied at Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort in the Snowburners program and played soccer in the Durango Parks and Recreation League.
Kimber, Florida Mesa School’s January Student of the Month, enjoyed many things about life including camping with her family, dancing, gymnastics, swimming at the lake, boating, and soccer.
She also loved music, cheerleading, and playing dress up. She especially loved her brother, sister and parents.
She is survived by her parents, Mike Brown and Raelyn Anderson-Brown of Durango; siblings Kaetlyn and Braeden, both of Durango; grandparents Robert and Roxana Brown, both of Castle Rock, and Linda Sheets of Durango; great-grandparents Harold Sheets of Durango, and Mary Kehmeier of Cedar Ridge; and an aunt.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Fort Lewis College Concert Hall.
