Durango Fire & Rescue Monday 6:17 a.m. Hazardous materials were spilled in the 27000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in west Durango. 11:02 p.m. Someone reported an odor of gas in the 200 block of Snowshoe Lane. Sunday 9:01 a.m. Someone reported smoke in the 1200 block of Carbon Junction. 9:56 p.m. A carbon-monoxide detector was set off in the lower 100 block of River Road. Saturday 12:39 a.m. A fire alarm was set off in the 1000 block of East Animas Road (County Road 250). 5:13 p.m. Medics and firefighters responded to a traffic accident in the 53000 block of U.S. Highway 550, on Coal Bank Pass. Friday 12:55 a.m. Medics from the downtown fire station responded to an assault. The Durango Fire & Rescue Authority responded to 45 calls Friday through Monday.
