Breath and yoga classes available
Free Nine Breath Method Circle classes are available.

Aikido demonstrations set for rec center
A free Aikido demonstration and introduction will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10 and March 24 in the second-floor aerobics room at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Participants will learn what aikido is and how the practice can transform the way people experience and move. Empty hands and weapons will be demonstrated. The demonstration will be presented by Durango Shin-Budo Kai Aikido.

‘Legislative Lowdown’ to be held Saturday
The League of Women Voters of La Plata County will host its annual “Legislative Lowdown” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Program Rooms 1 and 2 of the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
State Sen. Ellen Roberts and state Rep. J. Paul Brown will discuss 2012 legislative issues and the potential impacts on residents of Senate District 6 and House District 59. Participants should bring their questions. Light snacks will be provided.

Bayfield library to show two films
The Lavenia McCoy Public Library will show “Puss in Boots” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and “Two for the Road” at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the library’s meeting room, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.
Antonio Banderas stars in the animated film “Puss in Boots” about the events leading up to the sword-fighting cat’s meeting with Shrek and his friends.
“Two for the Road” is part of the library’s “People’s Choice” film series. The movie stars Albert Finney and Audrey Hepburn as a couple trying to rekindle a waning passion after 12 years of marriage through a series of flashbacks.

Free class to address men’s health issues
Herbalist Marija Helt will offer a free class about health issues faced by men, including cardiovascular disease, enlarged prostate, prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction and others from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Helt will discuss the role of stress and diet in the precipitation of chronic disease, nutritional and herbal approaches to help prevent cardiovascular disease, reproductive disorders and cancer, and how to establish balance in a body already thrown off by chronic disease.

Elks Lodge to offer rummage sale Saturday
The Durango Elks Lodge, 901 East Second Ave., will host a rummage sale/flea market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Many sellers will participate, and the Emblem Club will hold a bake sale. Participants should use the Ninth Street entrance. Tables are available for a small charge, which will go to Elk charities.
