Richard Albert Will

Richard Albert Will, the father of longtime Bayfield resident Kurt Will, died after a long battle with cancer Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, in Fort Collins. He was 67.

Known as “Rich,” he was born to Albert and Dorothy Will on Oct. 14, 1944, in Watertown, Wis.

Mr. Will graduated from Longmont High School in 1962, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Colorado State University in 1966. He became a master graduate of Rapport Leadership International in 2002.

Mr. Will worked for American Motors for 19 years, where he was the youngest zone manager in the history of the company, his family said. For the past 25 years, he owned his own business, Willrep, Inc., and was an independent sales representative in the recreational-vehicle industry.

In October 2003, he married Cristie Dyer in Estes Park.

“His passion was spending time with family and friends on his boat at Lake Powell, as well as going on cruises with Cristie,” his family said. “He loved to talk about politics and was a strong supporter of the Republican Party.”

Mr. Will is survived by his wife of eight years, Cristie Will, of Fort Collins; sons Kurt Will of Bayfield and Kyle Will of Bend, Ore.; stepdaughter, Lauren Dyer, of Fort Collins; stepson, Josh Dyer, of Hobbs, N.M.; brother Scott Will of Glenwood Springs; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., in Longmont.
