Durango resident Jason Craig Wright died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in Durango. He was 21. The cause of death is undetermined at this time.
Mr. Wright was born to James and Nina Wright on April 12, 1990, in Durango. He grew up in Ignacio, Bayfield and Perryton, Texas.
As a farmer and rancher, he excelled in mechanical work, welding, construction and all other tasks required to make a farm run successfully, his family said.
“He loved rodeo, hunting and fishing,” his family said. “The outdoors was his refuge. Jason fought with his diabetes from the time he was a young man.”
Mr. Wright is survived by his father, Mike Wright, of Ignacio; mother, Nina Lynn Rader, of Carmel, Ind.; sister, Jessica Cochran, of Centerville, Minn.; brothers Dustin Cole Wright of Okinawa, Japan, and Brian Wade Wright of College Station, Texas; grandparents James and Thelma Holdman of Perryton, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation will occur. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. today, March 2, 2012, at Pine River Valley Baptist Church, 11942 Colorado Highway 172 in Ignacio.
