Registration is open for spring classes at the Durango Arts Center. All classes are held upstairs in the education studio. Arts Center members receive a 10 percent discount for classes and workshops and no refunds can be given for missed classes.

Kids’ classes

Tween Painting for ages 9-11, taught by Meredith Rose; 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through April 24. The cost is $120, and scholarships are available from Durango Friends of the Arts.

Kitemaking for all ages (kids 8 and younger must be accompanied by a helper), taught by Paul Pennington, 10 a.m. April 28, $50.

Summer session of GOAL (Girls’ Opportunities through Arts and Leadership) for fifth- through eighth-grade girls; June 4-15. Call Sandra at 259-2606 for an application and more information.

Beginning Stained Glass with Will Foster, noon March 17, $45 plus a $15 materials fee.

Open Studios

Portrait group for adults and teens, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday, $10 per session for members and $20 for nonmembers; preregistration is not required.

Figure drawing for adults, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday, $10 per session for members and $15 for nonmembers; preregistration is not required.

Open Studio, 3 to 5 p.m. every Friday, free for members and students taking classes at the DAC.
