A&E Happenings for March 22

Nationally renowned feminist and media critic Susan J. Douglas will speak at 6 p.m. today in the Fort Lewis College Ballroom for a special Women’s History Month event. Douglas will examine sexist messages in the mass media; it’s her contention that media and society think it’s now OK to objectify women and resurrect old sexist stereotypes — all in the name of fun — because, gosh darn it, haven’t women achieved equality? The event is free for Women’s Resource Center members and $5 for the public. Enlarge photo
