Rascal Flatts: Changed. (Thursday only) A big screen simulcast of the country superstars in action.
Wrath of the Titans. (No Ebert rating. In standard and digital 3-D with surcharge.) Don’t worry if you get confused about who’s on Zeus’ team and who’s on Kronos’ team. Most of the budget for this one went into the visuals, which are pretty cool. Rated PG-13.
The Hunger Games.HHH Best-seller hits the big screen; young folks in the future are forced to compete in Roman-esque fights to death. Fun. Rated PG-13.
21 Jump Street.HHH Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are nothing like Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise in the TV show. They’re still undercover cops in high school, but this is a comedy where the show was serious stuff. I think comedy was a good choice. Rated R.
John Carter.HH½ A new action hero is born in this retelling of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ sci-fi novel. Rated PG-13.
Dr. Suess’ The Lorax. (No Ebert rating. In standard and digital 3-D with surcharge) Danny DeVito provides the voice of whatever kind of creature the Lorax is in this CGI spectacle. Rated PG.
Project X. (No Ebert rating) Some teens get in way over their heads with a party to end all parties. Shot in a documentary style. Rated R.
Act of Valor. HH½ Real Navy SEALs star in a dramatized rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative. Some may interpret this as a promotional film for the Armed Services, while others may think those people unpatriotic cynics. You decide. Rated R.
