Climb fire ladder for perspective about workers

There are so many serious issues currently being discussed, but I think that there is space for one more: firefighters and police.

I recently had the opportunity to climb a 75-foot ladder on one of the fire trucks.

I was amazed not only at the view from that height, but that I was able to complete the climb up and back down.

A few minutes afterward though, my legs felt like they were about to buckle. I thought about what it must be like to not only climb that ladder, and higher ones, but to do it quickly with full gear, let alone carry somebody.

If you get a chance, climb that ladder or go on a police ride-along to appreciate our good fortune in having such service in our society.

Thank you.
