Ouray County to hold Mud Festival
The Ouray County Mud Festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 at the Ouray County Fairgrounds in Ridgway.
The festival will include a 4x4 obstacle course, mud run, freestyle motorcross, stick-horse races, tug of war, inflatable bounce house, and vendors.
Raffle tickets will be available for the 48th annual Ouray Jeep Raffle and the Ouray County 4-H Truck Raffle fundraisers.
The Mud Ball will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Ouray Community Center, 320 Sixth Ave.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for youths ages 5-17 and $25 for a family pass. To participate in the 4x4 Obstacle Course or Mud Run, the cost is $20 for one event or $30 for both.

Marathon training program to begin
The Durango Chapter of the Jeff Galloway Marathon Training Program has formed and will host these events:
A kickoff party will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. April 20 at Ska Brewing. Participants can register for the training program at that time.
A group run for the full marathon or 50K trail run will take place at 7 a.m. April 21 at the Durango Joe’s at 832 E. College Drive. Registration will take place from 7 to 7:45 a.m., and the run will begin at 8 a.m.
A 4-mile run/walk for the full marathon or 50K trail run, which will include a “Magic Mile” to determine the appropriate Pace Group for each person, will be held at 8 a.m. April 28. Pace Group runs will begin May 5.
A group run for the half marathon or 25K trail run will take place June 16. Registration will be from 7 to 7:45 a.m., and the run will begin at 8 a.m.
A 4-mile run/walk for the half marathon or 25K trail run, which will include a “Magic Mile” to determine the appropriate Pace Group for each person, will take place at 8 a.m. June 23. Pace group runs will begin June 30.
The Durango Double, a festival for runners, will be held in October. A trail 25K and 50K will take place Oct. 6, and the Durango Marathon and Half Marathon will take place Oct. 7. At the Durango Double, participants can run any one race or they can “Do the Double” by running a trail race on Saturday and a road run on Sunday.
