Gravel pit to open beginning Monday
The Weaselskin Gravel Pit located at 8817 La Posta Road (County Road 213) will open for about 45 days as of Monday.
This operation will permit the residual gravel in the pit to be removed. No additional gravel crushing will take place. Bicyclists and drivers should expect a high volume of gravel truck traffic during this time.

Rape prevention presentation to be held
The “Where Do You Stand?”event created by “Men Can Stop Rape” will take place at 6 p.m. Monday in Room 130 of Noble Hall at Fort Lewis College.
This event is designed to shift the paradigm of sexual assault as a woman’s issue to the realization that it is a people’s issue.
The construction of masculinity will be broken down. Also covered will be how some of the stereotypes attached can be damaging, and how that may relate to “rape culture.”
Cortez Cultural Center announces events
The Cortez Cultural Center, 25 N. Market St. in Cortez, will hold these events:
The next of the center’s series of monthly wine-tasting fundraisers will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the center. The tasting will be presented by Durango Wine Merchant Eric Allen. The cost is $20 per person. The event is limited to 30 participants. Preregistration is recommended by calling 565-1151.
A 2-mile walk/run to support the center will take place at the annual Pueblo-to-Pueblo Race on April 28. An 11-mile or 10K run or 30-mile bike ride also will be available.

Allergy presentation to be held Wednesday
Advanced Allergy Relief Center of the Southwestwill present “Resolving Seasonal Allergies and Allergic Asthma” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Program Room 2 at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Caleb Gates LAC will discuss how airborne allergies can be resolved using Advanced Allergy Therapeutics.

Spaghetti supper to be held at Sacred Heart
The 38th annual spaghetti supper will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. April 28 at Sacred Heart Parish, 254 East Fifth Ave.
The cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children and children younger than 6 are free. The menu will include spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, pizzelli cookies and drink.
