Free children’s yoga class will be Thursday

A free children’s yoga class for parents and children ages 3 to 7 will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Pediatric Associates of Durango, 1199 Main Ave., Suite 205.

‘Role of Stillness’ to be held at library

The free presentation “Medicine and Mindfulness: The Role of Stillness in the Prevention and Treatment of ‘Dis-Ease’” will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Board-certified family medicine physician Megan Lewis will explain the mind-body connection and the role of the “stillness technique” in the prevention and treatment of disease.

Free gland exams to be held April 27

Dr. Nancy Utter of Durango Natural Medicine will offer free exams to assess the health of adrenal glands from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 27.

The adrenal glands manage the fight-or-flight response and are significantly affected by stress. Natural medicines offer a wide range of treatments to help reduce the negative effects of stress on the body and to help restore peace and calm.

Gentle yoga classes to be held St. Mark’s

Gentle yoga classes are being held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays at St. Mark’s Church, 910 East Third Ave.

The classes are instructed by Jennifer Kiel, certified yoga instructor. This class is ideally suited for senior citizens, those new to yoga or for those who want to relax and restore. Drop-ins and beginners are welcome.
