Jeff Scroggins and Colorado opened the summer music season at The Balcony Bar & Grill last weekend with an unofficial Bluegrass Meltdown set at the downtown outdoor venue. The Balcony will feature live music Thursday through Sunday in May and nightly beginning Memorial Day through the summer.

Durango artist Kristen Smith will be the inaugural featured artist Thursday at the South-side Artisans Guild at the Raider Ridge Cafe. The East Eighth Avenue eatery will display a different local artist’s work each month.
