A ‘win, win, win’ for students, teacher, storyteller

Roland Smith, a reading volunteer at Park Elementary School welcoming visitors to Jean Owens kindergarten class Monday morning, says his reading sessions are “a win for the kids, a win for the teacher, and a win for me.” He’s reading his published children’s book Billy and the Daffy Dinosaur, which was illustrated by Caroline Lippincort, to his right. Smith read to elementary school students for years before deciding to work on his own children’s book. Enlarge photo
