Durangoans broke out umbrellas Monday afternoon as thunderstorms moved through Southwest Colorado. The National Weather Service expects a 30 percent chance of rain in town today and Wednesday, with a decreased chance of rain in the forecast for Thursday and Friday. Silverton has more than a 60 percent chance of snow today and a continuing but decreasing chance of snow through the week. It spit a little today but it wasnt much, said Leann Maisel, owner of The Bent Elbow Hotel and Restaurant in Silverton. She added that its not unusual for tourists to board the train in Durango in shorts and arrive  unexpectedly  in snow. Enlarge photo
