Volunteers provide services to community

I am one of the grateful ones who received the free services of the Durango High School “Big Event” volunteer program.

Sophomore Meredith Nass, founder of the program, came out to my place and, along with special-education teacher Tebby Henry, washed my windows. About 70 DHS students were elsewhere volunteering their services. “Big Event” is the brain child of Meredith, who, along with co-head Emily Scholdach, began this program so DHS students could give back to the community, which she said, “gives so much to the high school.”

Hurrah to Meredith and all the volunteers.

P.S. My windows just sparkle!
