Two Durangoans were arrested this week after a four-month investigation for distribution of Oxycontin pills.

Investigators from the Southwest Drug Task Force arrested William L. O’Neal, 39, on Sunday and Maris M. Moore, 26, on Tuesday. They were booked into La Plata County jail.

Each is held on $25,000 bond. O’Neal additionally is being held for a no-bond parole violation.

Investigators made purchases of Oxycontin pills from both suspects. About 500 30-milligram pills were recovered from a vehicle that O’Neal was driving.

The street value of the pills is more than $17,000.

The case continues under investigation and more arrests are expected.

The Southwest Drug Task Force has investigators from the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, the Ignacio and Durango police departments and the Bayfield Marshal’s Office.
