Rollover causes injury

The driver was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries and a dog, the only other occupant, died at the scene of this accident Friday evening on Colorado Highway 140 south of Hesperus, the Colorado State Patrol said. Nikole Goldman, an emergency medical technician with the Fort Lewis Mesa Fire Protection District, looks over the scene of the one-vehicle wreck near mile marker 16. Trooper Stephanie Guilfoil with the State Patrol said the vehicle was traveling south on Highway 140 when it headed off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected and went off the left side, rolling 1½ times. Durango Fire & Rescue Authority and the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office also responded. Enlarge photo
