Bayfield library seeks teen volunteers

The Lavenia McCoy Public Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield, is seeking teen volunteers to assist with the Summer Reading Program by serving as Summer Reading Captains.

Duties will include helping with sign-ups, hosting programs, reading to kids, and more. Captains are library volunteers and receive credit accordingly. The captains will have a pizza party at the end of the program.

Interested teens should attend the planning meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the library.

Summer Reading Program events are each Friday at 10 a.m. from June 1 to July 27. Captains are expected to attend at least five events to receive full credit.

Book sale to be held at Bayfield library

The Friends of the Pine River Library District will host the “Best of the Best” book sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 2 at the Lavenia McCoy Public Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.

A preview sale will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday.

Golf tournament to benefit Grace Academy

The second annual “Golf with Grace” golf tournament will be held Wednesday at the Glacier Club.

This tournament benefits Grace Preparatory Academy, a private Christian school in Durango. Various contests, including a hole-in-one for a Harley-Davidson, will be part of the tournament.

Ignacio library announces events

Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave. in Ignacio, will host these events:

A “Meet the Artist Reception” to honor the artists from the Spring Exhibit will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The library will begin the Summer Reading Program at 10 a.m. June 6 with a performance by Luke Renner, “the yo-yo guy.”
