Twenty-five years ago the Animas Valley was a lovely expanse with ranches in the valley and houses on the higher elevations. There was room for a herd of 100 elk to winter over across from the glider port. Over the years there has been a great deal of development as the population has increased, but, please, don’t trash the whole character of the valley with a cheap sideshow attraction! If the train’s officials want the children to learn about dinosaurs, set up an exhibit at the Children’s Museum and keep the carnival attractions at the fairgrounds.
I’m sorry that the train is involved with this tawdry scheme, probably to enrich some would-be entrepreneur.
