Durango resident Marilyn Englishman died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Littleton. She was 77.
Mrs. Englishman was born to Roger and Neita Rightmire on Aug. 2, 1934, in Smithfield, Neb.
She graduated from Hastings College in 1956, and continued to be active in the Alumni Association.
In the late 1950s, she married Beryl Cropley. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Her family said Mrs. Englishman was a successful businessswoman. She owned a trailer park and worked for the United States Geological Survey.
In the early 1980s, she married Donald Englishman in Durango.
She supported the La Plata County Humane Society and was a member of the Florida Mesa Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Englishman is survived by her husband of 30 years, Donald Englishman, of Durango; son Bret Cropley, of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Dawn Williamson, of Grayling, Mich.; sister Virginia Fleharty of Smithfield, Neb.; three grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
Cremation has occurred. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
