Former Ignacio resident Thomas Victor Howe died Sunday, June 10, 2012, in Albuquerque. He was 76.
Mr. Howe was born to Edward and Margaret Howe on Feb. 22, 1936, in Ignacio. He grew up mostly in Ignacio and Towaoc.
He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Howe worked at the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Forestry Division as a custodian and maintenance specialist, and he also worked as an ambulance driver.
A member of the Native American Church, Mr. Howe enjoyed hunting, spending time at the casino, traveling and visiting his family.
He lived in Dulce, N.M.
Mr. Howe was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Ellen (Montoya) Howe.
He is survived by his daughters Victoria Ann Howe and Thomasina Howe, both of Dulce, N.M.; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.
A funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 East Third Ave. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. before the service. Cremation will take place afterward.
