Walker Lunn, 6, spots wildlife Tuesday morning – in the form of 8-year-old Trey Brumbach – through a wildlife-spotting scope at the Colorado Division of Wildlife’s Durango Fish Hatchery during a field trip for first- through third-graders from the Boys and Girls Club of La Plata County. The club, which serves 150 to 160 area youths daily, conducts several field trips during summer sessions, that revolve around themes. The current theme is Camp Exploration. “Camp Exploration is all about children exploring and learning about their world, and the fish hatchery is a great community partner. The experience has a big impact on the kids of our program,” said Laura Hager, program director for the club.
