Durango High student honored in Boulder
Durango High School sophomore and violinist Nolan Reed was recently selected as concertmaster at the University of Colorado High School Summer Music Academy, which concluded June 29.
The academy is an opportunity for a select number of the most-talented musicians from Colorado and around the country to receive world-class instruction in a one-week summer session. Students were required to submit a recorded audition, and participants were selected based on their audition.
On the first day of the camp, participants were asked to do another audition for seating placement and Reed was selected as concertmaster. He will perform this month with the Music in the Mountains Chamber Orchestra.
