E7 Systems announces new hire

E7 Systems introduces its new director of customer solutions, Steve Linn.

Linn has been engaged in new business startups since the mid-’90s working with AT&T Wireless in new-market development. Linn most recently worked with Directory Plus and Ballantine Communications developing BuzzTown.com, DurangoMenu.com and BestInDurango.com.

He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in communications. Linn also is a certified Google AdWords professional and an expert in Search Engine Optimization.

He will be responsible for maintaining high-quality solutions as E7 grows to meet demands of the local startup market.

Body of Work to host grand opening event

Body of Work Wellness and Movement will host a grand opening party from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at its location, 679 East Second Ave., located in the Meyer’s Building.

The event will feature free treatments, including chiropractic, the Rolf Method, acupuncture and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. There will be food and beverages and a silent auction that will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Denver.

Food industry class to be held July 16, 19

A “ServSafe” class for restaurant managers and for people selling prepared products produced in home kitchens – the cottage food industry – will be offered July 16 and 18 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

This is the class required by the Colorado Department of Health and Testing. Pre-registration is required.

Gott Brothers Orchard opens new location

Gott Brothers Orchard & Produce announces its new location next to Alpine Auto Doctors at 1483 Colorado Highway 3.

The president of the company, Bruce Gott, has raised apples in La Plata County since 1981 and also is an artist who paints landscapes of the Southwest and religious subjects.

The new location will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The orchard grows more than 50 varieties of apples in La Plata County and makes its own apple cider. In the summer the orchard offers tree-ripened fruit including peaches, cherries, plums, pears and farm-fresh tomatoes, corn and vegetables. In the fall, the orchard offers apples and cider.
