Accident sends people to hospital

Trooper Rusty Sanchez of the Colorado State Patrol said a driver in a Ford Windstar traveling east on Highway 172 stopped to make a U-turn when a driver in a Chevy Astro traveling in the same direction rear-ended the vehicle at about 11:30 a.m. The number of occupants in each vehicle and the number of injured was not clear at the time, but the injured were transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center, Sanchez said.
