Look both ways for 6-pack of artists

Studio &, Serving Life Chiropractic to hold their annual group show

Studio & is more than just a workspace and gallery for the member artists of the Main Avenue arts collective. It’s also a launchpad and showcase for countless local artists; some are established locals who don’t show regularly in galleries, and others are relative newcomers to the art scene.

For the fourth year, & will give six of those artists some exposure in the annual group show.

Three will exhibit at & and another three will have their work on display across Main Avenue at Serving Life Chiropractic. Saturday’s opening reception will take place at both locations simultaneously.

The artists are a mixed and talented lot. Maegan Crowley is an actual Dolores blacksmith, a rarity in these parts and just about everywhere else. In this day and age, that makes her a skilled metal artist who is one of two artists working in three dimensions.

The other is Minna Jain, a creative fountain who has yet to meet an artistic medium she can’t master.

The wall-hanging artists are Dan Groth, Nathan Schmidt, Megan Altendorf and Kiley Tate Smith.

Groth has had several successful solo shows in recent years as his fantasy-inspired pen-and-ink drawings have a inexplicable charm and draw.

Schmidt is a talented but relatively unknown artist who doesn’t discriminate between painting and drawing.

Also new on the scene is Kiley Tate Smith, who was selected by the & crew based on his submission application.

Finally, Megan Altendorf is a working architect who will construct a small room inside Studio & to display her artwork.

The Group Show will remain on display for one week.
