Bayfield girl receives gift from Kenny Chesney

In Denver on July 21, country music singer Kenny Chesney finished another rousing rendition of “The Boys of Fall” took a deep breath, scanned the swarm of adoring fans, and reached out his hand to 10-year-old Timbree Florian of Bayfield.

Timbree had been enjoying the music of country stars Chesney and Tim McGraw with her parents, Ryan and Stephanie Florian. Before she knew it, she found herself on stage receiving an unexpected gift: a Denver Broncos helmet signed by new quarterback Peyton Manning and head coach John Fox, among others. With 50,000 people in attendance, it was a true needle-in-a-haystack scenario. However, Stephanie Florian admitted the family improved its odds by gradually creeping closer to the stage.

“Our seats were farther back,” she said. “We kind of snuck up there.”

The experience was a whirlwind for Timbree, who says she wasn’t starstruck or intimidated by the crowd.

“Thinking back on it, I didn’t think about how many people I was in front of,” she said. “I didn’t have time to be nervous.”
