DHS ’63 class to host reunion meeting
An organizational meeting for the Durango High School Class of 1963 reunion will take place at 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at Griego’s Restaurant, 2603 Main Ave. Participants are asked to bring information about classmates and ideas for the reunion.

Durango City Hall to be closed Aug. 21
Durango City Hall, 949 East Second Ave., will be closed for USA Pro Cycling Challenge cleanup from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 21 and open again for the City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21.
AARP to host driver safety program
AARP will host a driver safety program from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 25 in the Pine Room at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
The classroom refresher course is designed especially for drivers age 50 and older. Auto insurance discounts are available in most states through an insurance agent.
Cost of the course is $12 for AARP members, $14 for nonmembers, and $5 with a furnished coupon for Public Employees Retirement Association members and educators.

Garden Club to meet Wednesday
The Garden Club of Durango will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday for garden tours at the homes of Betty Kibby and Deon Mertz followed by refreshments and the monthly meeting.
Participants will meet at 12:30 p.m. at Santa Rita Park to carpool.
