Starting a business workshop to be held

The Small Business Development Center at Fort Lewis College will offer the “Starting Your Business Workshop” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

The workshop will feature these speakers:

Joe Keck, director for the Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center.

Jack Llewellyn, executive director for the Durango Chamber of Commerce.

Brad Broyles, business banker from First Southwest Bank.

Attorney Linsdey Nicholson.

Chuck Fredrick, a certified public accountant.

Tuition is $25 for the public and $20 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members.

First National Bank announces new hire

First National Bank of Durango announces the addition of Melissa Stordeur on July 30 as a customer-service representative at the bank’s main office.

She is originally from Green Bay, Wis., but lived in Kentucky for the last 14 years with her family. Stordeur has a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a master’s degree from the University of Louisville. She worked for the University of Louisville in the University Honors Program before coming to Durango.
