Alzheimer’s Association recognizes volunteer

The Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado has named Craig Welch Volunteer of the Year for the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado Southwestern office.

Welch is the special events coordinator at the Ute Mountain Casino. He has been a volunteer for five years.

Health facility receives rural health grant

Gov. John Hickenlooper announced that Pediatric Partners of the Southwest in Durango has been granted $31,281.55 to improve health care at its facility.

The grant is part of a five-year, $7.5 million program funded by UnitedHealthcare to encourage the delivery and quality of health care in facilities across the state.
