Golf back in the Olympics? It’s not an absurd notion

I must preface my opening paragraph with tongue firmly planted in my cheek as the Olympics are upon us, and the International Olympic Committee essentially shuttered the demonstration sports back in 1992.

On a serious note, I believe golf should be made a bona fide Olympic entry in 2016. Just think of it – you could have five circled holes, as in the configuration of the Olympic rings, on each green. Each color has a designated bonus value, thus cutting strokes off each holes’ score.

Let’s face it – the golf concept is no more absurd, then deliberately throwing a badminton competition.

And how do you throw badminton? Eliminating the nylon threading in the racket? Oh, I have invented a new sport – giant bubbles with webless badminton rackets. Mr. Welk would be proud.
