Wild-eyed for Junior Livestock Show

STEVE LEWIS/Durango Herald

“When it’s all said and done, they’re friends,” said Randy McKee, president of the La Plata County Fair board or directors, when talking about youngsters competing in the Junior Livestock Show. More than 300 kids are participating, showing beef, fowl, swine and other livestock. Bethany Shultz, 14, daughter of Julie and Dave Shultz, readies a friend’s sheep on the first day of the fair Wednesday at the fairgrounds. The fair will run through Sunday.
