FLC board to meet Friday
The Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College will meet by teleconference at 12:30 p.m. Friday to approve a contract for the Outdoor Pursuits Program in the Finance & Administration Conference Room No. 232 of the Education/Business Building at Fort Lewis College.

Neighbor relations presentation to be held
Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County will present Rosie McGowan who will speak about homeowners associations and good neighbor relations at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
This presentation is part of Habitat’s Household Toolkit Series to support interested homeowners and first-time homebuyers.

Education program accepting registrations
Bayfield Early Education Programs is accepting registrations for the upcoming school term.
Half-day slots for either morning or afternoon are available for 3- and 4-year-olds. Families of moderate to low income are encouraged to apply. Sliding scales, bartering and scholarships are available to assist families.
After-school care from 3 to 5:30 p.m. is available for children in the preschool, kindergarten and first grade.
Applications should be received before Aug. 22 for this service. Colorado Preschool Program slots for children who are educationally at risk also are available.

AARP to host social dances
The Durango AARP Chapter will host summer social dances from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 10, 17, 24 and 31 at the Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave.
The dances will feature polka, fox trot, waltz, line dance and more. There will be snacks and prize drawings.
Couples and singles are welcome. The cost is $5 per person and entertainment will be provided by Steve Kahler.
