Forest Service lands availability announced

The U.S. Forest Service will host parts of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Several campgrounds along the Stage I route from Durango to Telluride will offer camping for a fee, and many campsites may be reserved in advance.

These developed campgrounds will not allow day-use parking.

Signs and traffic control devices will indicate restricted parking areas.

No dispersed camping or car camping will be allowed along the Junction Creek Road or in the Junction Creek Drainage, except within the Junction Creek Campground. In other areas, dispersed camping outside of developed campgrounds is allowed within 300 feet of open forest roads, unless posted otherwise.

A number of spectators are expected at Lizard Head Pass for a King of the Mountain event. Camping and parking restrictions will be in place at and near the pass, and staff members will be on hand to direct camping and day-use spectators.
