Boyd Hodges, president and CEO of Pine River Valley Bank, announces the hiring of Teri Simmons as community bank president of the Durango branch.
Simmons has more than 10 years lending and customer service experience. Most recently she served as a loan officer, then the branch manager at First National Bank Alaska in Healy.
Simmons, a native of Ruidoso, has a degree in agricultural economics and agricultural business, and a master’s degree in agricultural economics and economics, from New Mexico State University. Simmons was awarded “Financial Services Champion” in 2010 for the state of Alaska and the Western Division of the United States by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
In 2012, Simmons was designated as one of “Alaska’s Top 40 under 40,” a statewide honor awarded to 40 business leaders younger than the age of 40.

Steamworks beer-can designs receive honors
Steamworks Brewing Co.’s designs for the Colorado Kölsch and Steam Engine Lager beer cans received first and second place honors, respectively, in two categories at the inaugural “Canny” Awards.
The Kölsch was recognized in the “Best Local Tie-In (State, Town, Geography, Local Activity)” category, with the Steam Engine Lager honored for “Best Illustration of Beer Name.”
The “Canny” Awards recognizes the high-quality, captivating graphics featured on craft beer in cans.
