Hesperus resident Ronald Edward Gaddie died of lung cancer Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at his home. He was 63.

The couple married on Oct. 6, 1983, in Durango. They are raising their granddaughter, Josie A. Rose.
Mr. Gaddie started his owner-operated trucking business, which was successful for many years.
He was an avid fisherman who loved the mountains, his family said.
