It angers me that this town pours so much time, effort and money into things that hurt its economy rather than help. We have a motorcycle rally over Labor Day weekend and the town won’t even put up a banner, even though these people spend money and are nice and respectful. The rally brings to this Durango economy the most money of all, and this town does nothing to help or promote the event. It blows my mind. Where are people’s heads at?

The merchants, restaurants, grocery stores and, yes, the sales tax are at their highest when the rally comes to town.

Wake up, people. Are you really living in a bubble?

All you have to do is ask any merchant, and they will tell you.
