The Ignacio High School football team didnít have any of Tommy Dís mojo in Aspen.
In their season opener Friday night, the Bobcats lost to the Skiers 56-0 in the same town Fort Lewis College alumnus and professional cyclist Tom Danielson won last weekís Queen Stage during the USA Pro Cycling Challenge.
Aspen wasted no time in zipping to a rout, scoring on its first offensive play. Ignacio was intercepted, and it was returned for a touchdown on the next possesion to put Aspen up 13-0 in less than 2 minutes of play.
By halftime it was 47-0.
The Skiers were led by sophomore quarterback Luke Riderís two touchdown passes. He also had a rushing touchdown to go with two more from senior tailback Casey Hornburg.
For the Bobcats, quarterback Adison Jones unofficially was 9 of 18 for 64 yards and two interceptions. He was sacked five times, including for a safety with about 3 minutes to play that put the final points of the game on the board.
Charles Rhode was Jonesí top target, pulling in three catches for 27 yards.
Ignacio will play its home opener against Dolores Huerta at 11 a.m. Sept. 8.
