Living healthy: WholeExpo back for its 17th year

The 17th annual WholeExpo, a gathering of practitioners of nontraditional treatments for health and happiness, is coming Saturday and Sunday to Durango.

Workshops and exhibits will focus on among other things numerology, past-life reading, astrology, animal communication, sound for meditation, clairvoyancy, holistic dentistry, hypnotherapy and light/color therapy.

The event is scheduled in the main exhibit hall at the La Plata County Fairgrounds 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Entertainment and demonstrations are scheduled under a tent outside the hall.

Among them: An introduction to reiki, information about and a demonstration of how to increase the hormone oxytocin, healing with crystals, communication with the dearly departed, methods of choosing a tarot deck, use of flute music for healing, Christian mysticism, how to keep the body alkaline and a performance by a player of the ancient Australian wind instrument, the didgeridoo.

Vendors will offer books, clothing, sacred objects, handwriting analysis, soaps and lotions, water and air filters, oils, gems, jewelry and original artwork.

A special event, the live streaming of the Sunday service from Agape International Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, will be shown at 12:30 p.m.
