Bank of the San Juans announces four promotions

Bank of the San Juans has promoted four employees at its downtown Durango branch: Krista Schwettman to branch manager, Margo Lafferty to a bank officer, Cat Lauer to new project and training coordinator, and Shannon Dancy to customer-service supervisor.

Schwettman, a Durango native, formerly served as the downtown branch’s assistant manager. She has been with the bank for nearly three years and has worked in financial institutions locally and in Massachusetts.

Lafferty, an 11-year resident of Durango, has been with the bank for two years and will continue to serve as administrative assistant and dispute-resolution specialist.

In her new role, Lauer joins the bank’s operations team and will guide the introduction of new products and services for customers and lead internal training bank-wide.

Dancy has been a teller with the bank for a year and will direct customer service.

Physical-therapy firm hires Amanda Kiessel as office assistant

Quantified Performance announces the addition of Amanda Kiessel as office and marketing assistant.

Kiessel will work to manage patient scheduling, assist with treatments and coordinate marketing, public relations and special events. A 2003 graduate of Fort Lewis College, Kiessel has an extensive background in marketing and customer service.

Booth spaces available at ‘Chamberopoly’ expo

Booth spaces are available for the Durango Chamber of Commerce 2012 Table Top Expo called “Chamberopoly,” which will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.

The tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Financial firm announces Myers-Scholfield as new hire

Jennifer Myers-Scholfield has joined First Allied Securities as a client solutions director, investment strategies.

Myers-Scholfield earned an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. She is originally from Monte Vista, coming to Durango in 1989. Her previous career was in leadership, team and organization development, working at Jeppesen, a Boeing subsidiary and at Lore International Institute in Durango. Now, she leverages these experiences as a strategic-investment management partner for clients.

She also has worked for John Wells as his marketing assistant at The Wells Group, Ariano’s Italian Restaurant and at Lore International Institute.

Durango Brewing Co. wins silver medals at competition

Durango Brewing Co. has won medals at the 2012 Colorado State Fair Microbrew competition.

Durango Dark Larger was awarded silver medal in the dark lager category and Durango Golden Ale was recognized with a silver medal in its’ category. Durango Brewing beer is available at local bars and restaurants as well as the tasting room located at 3000 Main Ave.

The tasting room is open seven days a week.
