The Skyhawks came out firing at the pins in their first college golf tournament of the season.
The Fort Lewis College men’s golf team won the season-opening Grizzly Kick-Starter at the Cattails Golf Club in Alamosa on Saturday.
FLC defeated host Adams State and Dominican University of San Rafael, Calif.
Dillon Washburn of the Skyhawks, a redshirt freshman from Pinetop, Ariz., won medalist honors Saturday for the two-day, 36-hole event. He shot 71-70–141.
Lucas Laudick of the Skyhawks was next at 70-72–142.
Clark Riedberger, the former Pagosa Springs prep golfer, shot 70-75–145 for FLC.
