Two suspects from a bank robbery in Farmington were arrested near Ignacio after a chase late Friday afternoon.

The robbery occurred just after 4 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank at 4601 E. Main St. in Farmington, Frank Fisher, a spokesman with the Albuquerque FBI office, said Friday evening. The bank is near the Animas Valley Mall.

A man used a note to demand money from a teller, then fled, Fisher said. Farmington Police Department Sgt. Baric Crum told the Farmington Daily Times that no one at the bank seemed to be hurt.

Two suspects were apprehended about an hour and a half later after a chase involving the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, the Southern Ute Tribal Police and, the Times reported, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

No further information was available from the FBI at press time.
