Board of Health to meet Oct. 25

The Board of Health will meet at 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at San Juan Basin Health Department’s Pagosa Springs office, 502 S. Eighth St.

The public is welcome.

Food-protection class to be held Oct. 16

The San Juan Basin Health Department will offer a food safety class from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 16 in the department’s training room, 281 Sawyer Drive.

This class is designed for food-service employees and as a refresher class for managers. Certificates are issued based on demonstration of knowledge. The cost is $40.

Health department to host flu clinics

San Juan Basin Health Department will offer flu clinics this year in a variety of settings.

The department will provide flu shots at senior centers in Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio and Pagosa Springs on specific dates starting in September. Additionally, individuals and families can visit the health department, 281 Sawyer Drive, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. any Wednesday beginning Oct. 3 to Nov. 21 for flu shots or flu mist. Walk-ins are welcome.

The “Boo to Flu” clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 27 at the Upper Pine administration building, 515 Sower Drive in Bayfield and in Durango at a time and location to be determined.
