Lutheran church to offer Family Sunday School

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2611 Junction St., will start Family Sunday School at 9:15 a.m. Sunday.

This program will be offered the last Sunday of each month.

Har Shalom to hold First Friday event

Congregation Har Shalom, 2537 County Road 203, will host its First Friday event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

The event will feature a catered dinner in the Sukkah, a Shabbat service and the screening of the family movie “Praying with Lior.”

The service will be held at 6:30 p.m., the dinner at 7 p.m. and the movie at 7:45 p.m.

All catered dinners have been underwritten to encourage participation observing Shabbat as a congregation. A freewill offering will be accepted. Participants may bring any Kosher-style food or desert items.

Operation Christmas Child event to be held

A kickoff event for Operation Christmas Child will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive.

This organization collects gift boxes to be distributed to needy children around the world.

A highlight of the event will be a talk by a teenage girl who delivered her gift box to a child in Mongolia. Light refreshments will be served.
